Ahmed Faraz, the country's renowned progressive poet, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Nigar Awards and Hilal-e-Pakistan, was passed 12 years ago.
The famous poet Ahmad Faraz was born on January 12, 1931 in Kohat. After completing his primary education, he started writing poetry. He continued to perform his duties as an educationist in various educational institutions. He was sent jail in era of Zia ul Haq.
Ahmed Faraz recited thousands of poems and published 14 collections of his poems in which "Tanha Tanha","Dard e Ashob","Shab Khon",Merey Khab Reza Reza","Beawaz Gali Kochon Mein",Nabeena Shehr Mein Aaeens","Pasandaz Mousam",Sab Awazen Meri Haen","Khab e Gul Preshan Haye","Bodluk","Ghazal Bahana Karon","Janan Janan",and "Aye Ishaq Janon Pesha" are included. Ahmed Faraz's works have been translated into English, French, Hindi, Yugoslavia, Swedish, Russian, German and Punjabi.
