Nobel prize winners 2020

The Nobel Committee announced the Noble prize winners on differents dates starting from 05 October 2020. So far Noble prizes for Medicines,Physics,Chemistry and Peace. The Nobel Committee announced a change last month: Each prize will rise to 10 million SEK, 1 million more than last year. This is an increase in price of approximately $ 112,000 at current exchange rates.

Medicine

Dr. Harvey J. Alter, Michael Houghton and Charles M. Rice received the award for the discovery of the hepatitis C virus on Monday (October 5, 2020). According to the Nobel Committee, three scientists have "enabled blood tests and new drugs that have saved millions of lives." 

Physics

Roger Penrose, Reinhard Hansel and Andrea Guez received the award on Tuesday (October 6, 2020) for their discoveries that have improved our understanding of the universe, including work on black holes.

Chemistry

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded on Wednesday (October 7, 2020) to Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna for their work in developing Crispr-Cas9, a method for editing the genome.

Literature

The Nobel Prize for Literature was awarded on Thursday(October 8,2020) to Louise Gluck, one of America's most famous poets, "for her unmistakable poetic voice, which makes individual existence universal with austere beauty."

Peace

The 2020 Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to the World Food Program (WFP) for its efforts to fight hunger, for its contribution to improving peace in conflict-affected areas, and for being a driving force in preventing the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.
