ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released the Tax Directory 2018.Which politician paid how much tax, details released.
During the financial year 2018, Sindh took the lead in tax collection. Despite having more filers, Punjab came second in tax collection.
Which province collected how much tax?
Sindh collected 44.91 per cent, Punjab 34.99 per cent, Islamabad 14.77 per cent, KP 3.54 per cent, Balochistan 1.67 per cent and Gilgit-Baltistan 0.12 per cent.
Karachi at number one
The highest tax collection of Rs 209.10 billion was collected from Karachi. 114 billion 22 crore 99 lakh 55 thousand from Karachi South, 9 billion 5 crore 93 lakh 71 thousand from Karachi Central and 34 billion 9 crore 25 lakh from Karachi East.
204 billion 14 crore 86 lakh 73 thousand rupees were collected from Islamabad, 16 billion 26 crore 41 lakh 48 thousand rupees from Faisalabad and 7 billion 92 crore 62 lakh 64 thousand rupees from Gujranwala.
Number one among politicians
During the financial year 2018, the tax details of the MPs were also released according to which the PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi topped the list of politicians who paid Rs 241,329,362. Paid taxes
Rana Sanaullah paid Rs. 1,388,275, Hamad Azhar Rs. 59,442,700, Asad Umar Rs. 5,346,342 and Sheikh Rashid Rs. 579,011.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi contributed Rs. 183,900, Noor Alam Khan Rs. 30,458, Umar Ayub Rs. 26,055,517, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Rs. 294,117, Asif Ali Zardari Rs. 455 and Hamza Shahbaz paid Rs. 87,05,368 in taxes.
Who didn't pay taxes at all?
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Wawda did not pay any tax.
Chief Ministers
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan paid Rs. 235,982, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Rs. 48,18,948 and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Rs. 1,022,184. Murad Ali Shah also paid tax of Rs. 63,054,761 in the case of Association of Persons.
